Asian Hercules III heavy lift vessel in the Tay estuary. The vessel is working on an offshore wind farm near Peterhead and has been a frequent visitor to the docks in Dundee to collect foundations for the wind farm. It is quite a sight, it has a 5000 ton lifting capacity. Taken at the Stannergate with Tayport in the background.

Out for a walk with Max along the cliffs at Arbroath we came across the sea stack known as the Deil’s Heid. There are plenty more photographic opportunities along that coast so we’ll be back.

I was in Arbroath for two reasons, one, to buy fresh haddock for tea, two, Max loves a walk and a scrounge. He was having good fun smelling the lobster creels, of which there were hundreds, and it was a lovely Spring afternoon.

In the garden I came across these little plants peeking through the snow, a sign that Spring is on its way.

Monikie Reservoir. Out for a Sunday afternoon walk with Max, I saw these trees across the reservoir against the white grey sky. The image is colour, not monochrome.

A thrush on the wall in the garden. We put food out for the birds when the snow was on the ground, the food attracted quite a selection of birds.

Out for a walk this morning with Max at the beach, the tide was just starting to go out. I spotted this seaweed just on the waterline and noticed the bubbles the receding water was leaving.

Deer at Kingshouse Hotel, Glencoe. Weather was a mix of rain, sleet, snow, high wind. Everything but sunshine.

Broughty Castle, taken while out for a walk with Max. The winter afternoon light falling on the west side of the castle gave a lovely warmth to the stone. For a Saturday afternoon the castle was getting plenty of visitors.
