Winter in Aviemore

We had a winter break in Aviemore at the end of February for a change. It snowed on and off throughout the week. We had a visit to Loch Garden, from where we parked to the osprey centre was a 5 mile round trip.

This was taken not far from the small car park, the snow in the woods was untouched.

Further on we came across this small lochan with a viewing platform. The lochan was frozen over with a coating of snow. The tree stumps sticking out of the lochan gave the place a surreal dead feeling.

We eventually got to the end of our route, the osprey centre. Across the road was this view across Loch Garten. It was very cold but worth the effort and we had the return journey to look forward to.
